In January 2022, NISRA released the annual Alcohol-specific deaths statistics for deaths registered in 2020 on alcohol-specific mortality across Northern Ireland. The total number of alcohol-specific deaths registered in 2020 was 351, with higher levels in males than females. Alcohol-specific deaths continue to be more prevalent among the 45-54 and 55-64 age groups and among those living in more deprived areas.
