This House of Commons Library Briefing Paper of Pub Statistics presents data from various sources on the number of pubs in the UK. According to ONS data, from 2018 to 2019, the number of pubs in the UK increased by 340. The statistics in this briefing paper do not show the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The paper includes data on pub numbers in Northern Ireland from both official and non-official sources. Users of the data should apply caution in the interpretation of the trends, and the reasons behind those trends, from the references used in this resource.
