Impact of COVID-19 restrictions on Recorded Crime levels apparent in latest statistics
The number of burglary offences recorded during Q2 2020 was 52.8% lower than for the equivalent period in 2019
There were significant falls in theft (down 38.7%), robbery (down 29.9%), sexual offences (down 20.5%) and assaults and related offences (down 15.9%) compared to the equivalent period in 2019.
There were 281 crime incidents recorded during Q2 2020 relating to the enforcement of movement restrictions associated with COVID-19
