September 27, 2019This is the third regional report from the Northern Ireland Self-Harm Registry, covering the period 1st April 2012 to 31st March 2015. The National Self-Harm Registry Ireland has been operating in the Republic of Ireland since 2002, via the National Suicide Research Foundation. Under the Northern Ireland Suicide Strategy “Protect Life – A Shared Vision”, the Registry was piloted in the Western Health & Social Care Trust area from 2007. Building upon the success of this pilot, the Registry was implemented across all five Health and Social Care Trusts, with effect from 1st April 2012. The Public Health Agency (PHA) submits quarterly returns to the Department of Health (DoH) which collates Emergency Department (ED) data on self-harm in each Trust area. This publication covers a three-year period, building upon the previous 2012/13 and 2013/14 annual reports, allowing for comparisons to be drawn. However, this short period does not allow for the analysis of long-term trends at this point. Access here: 20year%20report%2014.11.06.pdf |
